Women aren't the only ones who can have fun with fashion. These days, more and more men are paying attention to fashion. You may have heard the term metrosexual used to describe men who pay a lot of attention to how they look, and if you ask me, there's nothing wrong with that at all! If you're a man who could use a little help in the area of fashion, or you know one, read on for our picks for hot mens fashion trends!

One hot look for guys is accomplished with a little simple layering. Pair your favorite boots or sneakers with cargo pants in khaki or denim and add a button up Oxford shirt in either a solid color or classic pinstripe. Then, layer a trendy rock and roll type tee with either long or short sleeves over the button up shirt and push up the sleeves for a trendy, attention getting look.

There's nothing more primal when it comes to mens fashion trends than the classic white tank, also called a ‘wifebeater.' However, wearing this on its own really isn't a good idea. To dress up your classic white tank, try a pair of dark denim jeans and a patterned button-up shirt. Leave the buttoned up shirt unbuttoned. This exposes the tank yet gives you a put-together look.

Suits are a classic look for men. Go with the monotone look made famous by Regis Philbin, or try a solid suit, solid shirt and funky patterened tie. Dark suits aren't the only choice for guys these days, however. For warmer weather, go with a beige traveling suit paired with a crisp white shirt and brown loafers.

When it comes to mens fashion trends, good grooming is important. Long hair is a thing of the past for guys – even for rockers! Try a trendy, spiky short cut and add a few pale highlights for contrast. Keep facial hair trimmed short and never go with just a moustache or just a beard – it's definitely passe. Close clipped moustache beard combos and short goatees are hot looks for men these days.

Men don't have to be clueless when it comes to fashion. By taking chances, pairing unexpected items and choosing pieces that are comfortable and eye-catching, men can look as stylish as their female counterparts this year!
