Top Teen Fashions Trends

Teens are probably the group of people most interested in fashion trends. What's hot and what's not changes from year to year – and often even more frequently! However, if you're a teen, or the parent of a teen, you can find teen fashions trends that work for everyone, are classic, yet still in style. Here are some ideas for hot outfits and those that should be avoided.

Casual and Cool

This look hinges on a great pair of jeans. The best jeans these days for teenage girls and grown women are slim fit denim with a hint of stretch. Don't ever choose pleated jeans, as they emphasize imperfections and add pounds where there aren't any! Jeans can be boot cut, straight leg, or flare leg as long as they're slim. A mild low rise is great, but definitely stay away from jeans that hang too far down. Showing midriff just isn't cool, not to mention the danger of flashing your undergarments. With the perfect pair of skinny jeans, pair a cute fitted tee in your favorite color, some funky jewelry, and a cute pair of boots.

Stylish and Sporty

Tracksuits are all the rage, but it's important to make sure your athletic inspired look isn't too frumpy. Pair your velour or terry track pants with a fitted tee and clean sneakers for a put-together look that's casual but not too casual. When it comes to color, baby blues and pinks are hot, as are jewel tones like ruby and sapphire.

Boho Chic

Unleash your inner gypsy with a cute broomstick skirt and long tunic accented with strands of beads. Or, pair an empire waist top with faded jeans, brown boots and some cute turquoise jewelry. When choosing denim to complete your bohemian look, go with a slim fit with a flare leg.

Preppy and Put-Together

Try slim black trousers and a well fitted Oxford button up shirt in the color of your choice. Add black kitten heels and classic pearls for a look that's sophisticated yet trendy at the same time. Keep your hair and makeup simple for this look with nude lip gloss and soft brown mascara. Another great trend that works with the preppy look is the pencil skirt. Keep the length conservative and pair with a classic white top and gold jewelry.
